EXCLUSIVE: Ex-NFL star Chad Johnson – Judge Orders Miami Home to Be Foreclosed On, Sold Off at Public Auction
The Dirty has exclusively been reporting the homeless situation of ex-NFL star Chad Johnson. He’s probably wishing those football checks were still coming in because we can confirm a Florida judge has just ordered his Miami home to be foreclosed on … Chad will be kicked out of the pad and it will be sold at public auction next month.
Coconut Cay Homeowners Association filed suit against Chad in Miami Court last year. The association sought to foreclose on the ex-NFL star’s Miami home due to his refusal to pay his bills. Chad purchased the 3,410 sq. ft. 6-bedroom, 4-bathroom Miami home for $265k back in 2012.
They accused Chad aka Ochocinco of knowingly blowing off his monthly and quarterly association fees … but despite numerous invoices and demands for payment, he has failed to pay his bills since September 2015 to the tune of $7,786.30 in fees + interest and attorney fees.
The association sued demanding the court allow them to foreclose on Chad’s home … with the profits going towards paying off the debt he owes. Chad wrote a letter to the judge shortly after the suit was filed explaining he is struggling financially. He said he has every intention of paying the association when money comes in.
The court didn’t buy the ex-NFL star’s plea. A hearing was held earlier this month in Miami where the judge came back and ordered Chad’s home to be foreclosed on ASAP!
The order explains that unless Chad coughs up the $7k+ the home will be put up for auction on February 27th and will be sold off to the highest bidder. Chad won’t see a dime of the sale profits until the $7k debt is paid off and any other liens against his home are settled.
The ex-NFL star is also in the midst of a foreclosure lawsuit over his separate mansion in Davie, Florida.
