‘Chrisley Knows Best’ star Todd Chrisley – Reality Star Can Breathe a Little Easier, Bankruptcy Trustee Drops Civil Contempt Accusation
Chrisley Knows Best star Todd Chrisley and his wife can breathe a little easier. The trustee presiding over his bankruptcy is dropping his accusations of civil contempt … in which he accused the reality star of refusing to cough up $70k owed in the case. Todd filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy back in 2012. His assets were listed in the amount of $4.2 million but he had over $49.4 million in liabilities.
The case is still pending with the trustee attempting to pay off the numerous creditors. Chrisley was granted a discharge of his debt back in March 2015.
The Dirty can exclusively confirm on January 9th, the trustee presiding over the Chapter 7 bankruptcy headed to court demanding Todd and his wife Julie be found in civil contempt of court and wants them sanctioned for blowing off a settlement deal.
The trustee explained during the course of the case, he determined that Todd had not disclosed all of his assets and he made certain transfers to his wife Julie. He sued the reality stars for the fraudulent transfers back in 2014. The parties were able to reach a settlement in which Todd and Julie agreed to pay $150,000 to the trustee to settle the case.
As of the date of this motion, Todd and his wife have paid a little over half of the agreed-upon settlement amount. They currently still owe $70,000 from the $150k. The trustee said he has patiently worked with Todd to collect the balance and was promised by the couple they would pay the final amount due by November … but that check never came.
He filed a motion for civil contempt seeking for the judge to enforce the agreement and stop Todd from delaying an already lengthy bankruptcy case and sought sanctions against the reality stars including the revocation of his debt discharge in the case … which would leave him on the hook for his millions of debt owed to creditors without the court’s protection.
Then days after the trustee filed his motion, he headed back to court and withdrew the motion without explanation in the court documents. All signs point to an agreement being reached out of court or the reality stars finally coughing up the $70k owed to the trustee. We reached out to Todd for a statement but it was too vulgar … let’s just say he is not a fan of Radar Online.
