EXCLUSIVE: ‘Dance Moms’ star Abby Lee Miller – Prosecutors Demand Reality Star Be Thrown in Prison
The Dirty can exclusively report Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller is being blasted by the prosecution in her bankruptcy fraud criminal case — where she is facing up to 5 years in prison – with them arguing her pleas for no prison time are absurd, since her actions have shown she had no sympathy for the victims of her financial schemes.
Miller plead guilty to bankruptcy fraud last year, following the reality star being charged over accusations she hide money from her reality show during her Chapter 11. The reality star is awaiting sentencing in the case where she’s facing up to 5 years in prison and up to a $5 million dollar fine.
Last Friday The Dirty broke the story (sorry Radar too slow … posted today) Abby headed to court recently filing their sentencing memorandum … with both attempting to convince the judge to side with them on sentencing day.
The reality star pleaded with the judge not to throw her in prison and to consider other sentencing options for her … claiming she was a hardworking business woman who was blinded by the bright lights of Hollywood and influenced by hanger-on’s. She pleaded for the judge to not have her step foot in prison or hand over $120k the prosecution demanded she turn over.
Then recently, the prosecution fired back at Abby’s plea for no prison time and demand the judge throw her behind bars for her crimes: “If a debtor knowingly concealed an asset, it can only be for the purpose of not wanting a creditor to have it. This is what the defendant/debtor Abigale Lee Miller intended to have happen in her Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition when she concealed hundreds of thousands of dollars in TV show income and other assets”.
The prosecution says that Abby lied over and over in her bankruptcy, in her attempt to screw over the creditors she owed money. They added, “Soon after the bankruptcy concluded, Miller returned to her scheming ways again when she transported tens of thousands in foreign currency from overseas locations into the U.S. in violation of U.S. structuring laws. To do so, she needed to enlist others, putting them at risk for criminal prosecution. It is apparent that Miller is not easily deterred by threat of criminal prosecution, even standing before a federal judge.”
Looks like the prosecution isn’t messing around … they want Abby Lee Miller in jail. So much for being a Dance Mom.
