EXCLUSIVE: David Norton Talks MAFS Second Chances- “I Didn’t Seek This Out” But “Am Very Blessed”

Fans of David Norton from season three of Married At First Sight were very excited to see that, after a failed marriage on the show, he was getting a second chance at love in the spin-off Married At First Sight: Second Chances. We recently caught up with Norton to talk about the show and why he did it.

On why he wanted to give love another chance especially in such a wide arena as TV, Norton told us that, “I have given love a lot of chances, just hasn’t been on TV. Go all the way back to Freshmen year of college. I met the most perfect girl, but between distance and timing- things just got in the way. That started a theme in my dating life where I was always close, but there was always something preventing it from going all the way. So then this opportunity came along…this allowed me to meet a great group of women, who know me, know my story and know that I am looking for someone that I can spend the rest of my life with. That’s more than half the battle and it just seemed like too good of an opportunity to pass up.”

And what would Norton say to critics claiming he’s just doing this for fame and attention?

“I didn’t seek this out,” Norton shared. “This opportunity was presented to me and I thought long and hard about it before agreeing to it.  I have a great job, fantastic group of friends and a family that supports me, that’s all I need in life- and a wife, but you know what I mean.”

“I believe everything happens for a reason,” he continued. “I believe that Married at First Sight happened for a reason and that reason was to lead me to the person I am going to spend the rest of my life with. The reason was for this Second Chance, and if I passed on it I would have regretted it for the rest of my life. I mean, it’s an opportunity to date 100 women, who want to date me…That means it just has to work once out of 100- I’ll take those odds. What single person wouldn’t take those odds, TV or not.”

Norton wrapped with saying, “Point I am trying to make is, I would have done this even if it weren’t on TV. Its a once in a life time experience and one very few people ever experience.. I am very blessed.”

Curious to know if Norton had any flashbacks to his first TV wife during the taping of this show, as well as what else we can expect from this season? Stay tuned for more of our conversation with Norton coming soon.
