EXCLUSIVE: Dr. Dre & Ice Cube – $110 Million Legal Battle over “Straight Outta Compton” BACK ON!
The Dirty can exclusively reveal Dr. Dre and Ice Cube will be heading back to court in the $110 million dollar legal battle over “Straight Outta Compton” … with the judge ordering the case back on … months after their ex-manager Jerry Heller passed away leaving the case in limbo.
Last year, Heller filed a $110 million dollar lawsuit against Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, the Estate of Eazy-E, others behind the film “Straight Outta Compton” … accusing them of ruining his good name by portraying him negatively in the movie.
Heller explained that the film made him out to be “the bad guy” and “a sleazy manager who took advantage” of N.W.A. and Eazy-E, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube.
Heller passed away this September of a heart attack, leaving the lawsuit in limbo until the judge or Heller’s lawyer decided the next step.
Recently, Jerry’s nephew filed, Terry Heller, docs requesting the court allow him to step in for his late uncle and continue on with the legal battle against Dre and Cube. He explained he will be the appointed personal representative for his estate and wishes to proceed.
Ice Cube and Dr. Dre headed to the judge last week demanding the judge NOT allow the nephew to take Jerry’s place until the Superior Court signed off on it … or they proposed to dismiss the entire case.
Then on March 25th, the judge came back with his decision and sided with Heller’s relative. The order grants the motion to have Terry Heller step in for his late uncle Jerry … due to him being officially named the representative of Jerry’s estate. The decision puts the $110 million legal battle officially back on.
