The Dirty can exclusively reveal Love & Hip Hop star Mendeecees Harris’ has been shut down by a federal court judge … despite the reality star have plead for his 8 year prison sentence to be cut by years … saying he could use his celebrity to reach the youth about the dangers of drugs.
Last year, Harris struck a plea deal in the criminal case accusing him of running a heroin and cocaine drug ring in NY.
The reality star entered a guilty plea to drug trafficking charges and was sentenced to 8 years and 1 month plus 5 years supervised release along with the seize of all his Love & Hip Hop paychecks. He started his prison sentence early last year.
Recently, the reality star filed docs pleading with the judge to reduce his sentence arguing he has used his celebrity to reach young people about the dangers of drugs and pointed out his wife and co-star Yandy and their 4 kids need him … arguing his sentence should be cut down to 5 years.
Prosecutors fired back demanding the judge shut him down … saying his sentence fit the crime.
Then on March 8th, the judge came back with his decision and shut down the reality star by denying his motion. He explains the original sentence was reached due to his involvement in the distribution of a massive amount of cocaine and heroin in the NY community. The judge says he considered this along with his background and criminal history when he sentenced him to 8 years in prison and he won’t be let any earlier.
