EXCLUSIVE: Michael Irvin’s Lawyer Responds To Sexual Assault Investigation
This morning, news broke that Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame receiver and NFL Network commentator Michael Irvin is being investigated in a sexual assault case after a 27-year-old woman who told police she feared that Irvin had “drugged and raped her” after a night out.
We spoke exclusively to his attorney, Larry Friedman, after this news broke, and he told us the following information:
–“The NFL has not been contacted, nor are they investigating these accusations at this time.”
–“Michael was never alone with this woman in the hotel, she was with a group of friends.”
–“These allegations came over a week ago.”
–“Michael was completely blind sided by the allegations, and denies them vehemently”
–“Michael Irvin does not pay extortion.”
–“(The) Same situation happened last year, and no charges were filed.”
–“Friend of the girl in (the) case say(s) it’s for the money, but I cannot give credibility to the source.”
– “I have tried to contact the woman via phone (and there was) no answer. She also did not show up for work today.”
