EXCLUSIVE: Monique Samuels- Gizelle Bryant Doesn’t Know Who She Is
Recently, The Dirty exclusively spoke with Real Housewives of Potomac star Monique Samuels, who dished to us about the dramatic incident with co-star Gizelle Bryant that took place at Samuels’s house. We spoke with Samuels a little more about Bryant.
“Most definitely (she’s jealous of me and the life I have),” Samuels revealed to us when asked if she thinks Bryant is jealous of her. “As I’ve been watching the season, I’m listening to the comments she’s making. One minute this past episode she says she wants to be independent but then a few episodes before that, she was talking about how she needs a man with a big bank account and a big you know what. So I’m like clearly she’s confused and she doesn’t know who she is or what she wants.”
“I thought it was interesting in the scene with her and Robyn [Dixon] were in the kitchen at her house that she said I’m open to know Monique if she even knows who she is,” Samuels continued. “I just see a person like her and it’s so clear to me that she’s one of those types of people that mirrors herself. So she may be talking about Monique, but she’s looking at herself. She’s looking at how she would be if she was in my position. Clearly, she was a person that was married and her whole identity was her marriage and whoever she was married to. So she’s a grown woman in her 40s or 50s- however old she is- and she’s still trying to discover who she is. Now you see a person like me- I’m 33 years old- I’m married, my husband loves me, we have a great family, a great relationship, and we have all of these material things that people put on the pedestal- but at the end of the day, I’m a secure woman. I know who I am. I’ve always been independent. So, I think when she sees that, she can’t wrap her mind around it because she doesn’t know who she is.”
So what can we expect to see from the pair as the season goes on?
“I think that you’ll more so see us learning how to deal with each other,” Samuels revealed. “It’s like alright we’re in this group so we’ve got to figure out a way to work around whatever issues. For me, I’m a person who I will give you a few chances, but once you get on my bad side, it’s kind of hard for me to fully let you in. Once my wall goes up, it can come back down, but it takes a lot for it to come back down and for me to be that comfortable. So I always say we’re a work in progress.”
“It’s whatever,” she added. “I gave her the opportunity. I was open and I had no issue. And she came with all this issue. And her issues aren’t me. She has her own issues within herself that she needs to work out.”
We talked to Samuels about a few other RHOP topics, so make sure to stay tuned to The Dirty.
