EXCLUSIVE: T.I. – Accused of Refusing to Pay Georgia Jeweler, Yet Still Filed $700k+ Insurance Claim Following Home Break-In
The Dirty can exclusively reveal rapper T.I. is accused of filing an insurance claim for $700k in stolen jewelry following an alleged break-in at his Georgia home last year … yet, the jeweler says he still refuses to pay up on the invoice for the pieces despite numerous demands.
Georgia-based jeweler, Aydin & Co., sued the rapper accusing him of screwing them out of $400k. The company stated they delivered a 18.5 karat white gold bracelet along with a gold rosary and ring to T.I. back in 2014. He paid them $20,000 which left an unpaid balance of $44k for the pieces.
Aydin said T.I. was a customer for over a decade and he currently owes them over $400k for pieces he hadn’t paid for despite keeping possession. They sued for in excess of $700k in damages. The rapper blasted the jeweler and demanded the suit be thrown out.
Then recently, Aydin headed to court blasting the rapper’s attempt to have the case dismissed. The jeweler explains he considered T.I. a friend of his … having worked together for over a decade. The company says the facts are clear … he owes them for the $400k jewelry he took but failed to pay. Interesting to note … they say the rapper despite not paying them for the pieces … filed a police report last year following an alleged break-in to his home.
Aydin explains last March a police report was filed stating T.I.’s security officer found a rear basement glass door shattered and when the rapper got home he noticed several pieces missing. He estimated the value of the stolen jewels to be $703,333. They are demanding the case continue on.
