EXCLUSIVE: Fat Joe – Business Partner Accuses Rapper of Screwing Him over on High End Shoe Store, Sues for $480k+
The Dirty can exclusively reveal Fat Joe is being accused of screwing his former business partner out of $480k+ over a high end sneaker store they launched and now the man has slapped the rapper with a federal lawsuit.
Scott Spina sued Fat Joe aka Joseph Cartagena and All the Way Up LLC. He claims the rapper and his team approached him last year to start a new business. At the time he operated a successful venture “Scotty Kicks”, which sold sneakers to celebrities and brought him minor fame.
The two partnered to open a high end sneaker and clothing store and the man says he worked tirelessly over the next three months by paying the lease deposit, finishing a Nike contract, managing the building of the store and invested all up front capital to the tune of $480k.
The store was opened in November and on the first day it generated $175k in sales. Spina says 20 days after the launch he was unlawfully ejected from the store and banned from coming back. Spina accuses Fat Joe of planning to cut him out of the business … even opening a new bank account for the company and refusing to pay him a dime. The store had generated close to $500k in sales and $285k in profit in the first couple weeks alone.
He is suing for the $480k he invested + accounting records to determine what he is owed from the profits … along with an injunction ordering Fat Joe not to go near the store until the outcome of the lawsuit.
