EXCLUSIVE: Fox News – Defends Roger Ailes in Female Employee’s Discrimination Case, Accuse Lidija Curanaj of Riding Gretchen Carlson’s Coattails
The Dirty can exclusively reveal Fox is blasting a former female employee for dragging Roger Ailes name into her discrimination lawsuit … accusing her of trying to ride on the coattails of Gretchen Carlson and trying to taint potential jurors …. and the company is demanding her suit be tossed out of court.
Lidija Curanaj – a veteran of the TV news industry – filed suit against Twenty-First Century Fox in Federal Court.
She explained she met Roger Ailes at a dinner where he offered to interview her for a Fox News position. Once she arrived to the “interview”, Ailes took her into a private meeting where he asked her to stand up and twirl so he could see her backside … but she followed his orders and left feeling like she would be hired.
However, Ailes would call her ex-boyfriend following the meeting to ask if she “put out” and “how’s the sex” … and he would eventually call her back saying she wasn’t ready for Fox News and to try a local station.
She eventually got hired by Fox as a General Assignment Reporter for FOX5 in November 2011. However, during her time there she was subjected to alleged illegal discrimination by her bosses. Curanaj sued demanding damages for the mental anguish and emotional distress they caused her.
Recently, Fox Entertainment Group headed to court blasting the lawsuit and accusing her of dragging Roger Ailes’ name into the complaint in an attempt to ride on the coattails of former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson (who settled her lawsuit against Fox over alleged sexual harassment by Ailes).
The company says the allegations regarding Ailes have no bearing to this case … calling her motivations for injecting Ailes into her dispute as predictable and transparent … saying she seeks to exploit the media’s appetite for stories about Ailes and to taint a jury’s perceptions of Fox should the case go to trail.
Fox argues, “she wants to take advantage of the front-page media frenzy spawned by Gretchen Carlson’s complaint and Ailes’s resignation from Fox News in July 2016”.
They deny her allegations of discrimination and demand the lawsuit be tossed.
