Ian Kahaloa Seen In Snapchat Videos With What Appear To Be Drugs
Cincinnati Reds 19-year old pitching prospect Ian Kahaloa was suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball earlier this week. This was due to the fact that Kahaloa tested positive for the second time for a “drug of abuse.” Since then two videos have been posted to Twitter allegedly showing Kahaloa on Snapchat with what appears to be marijuana and cocaine.
The Reds are aware of the videos and have voiced their concern for Kahaloa.
According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, the Reds Player Development Director Jeff Graupe called the videos “alarming.”
“We’re obviously really concerned,” he said. “We’re working to get Ian the help and assistance that we believe he needs to get his long-term future to a more stable place. We’re kind of putting the baseball on the backburner.”
Kahaloa has appeared in 12 Rookie League games between 2015 and 2016. Most recently with the Billings Mustangs.
We are in the process of trying to contact the Reds front office for further comment on the situation and will be sure to update you when we do.
