EXCLUSIVE: Jim Carrey to Ex-Girlfriends Mom – I’m Not a Drug Dealer & Didn’t Cause Your Daughter’s Death, Now Cough Up $372k
The Dirty can exclusively report Jim Carrey is adamant he did not cause his ex-girlfriends suicide nor was he a drug dealer … and blasts her mother in the wrongful death lawsuit she filed blaming him … saying if the woman even knew her daughter and wasn’t estranged from her, she would know the deep love they shared together before her death.
Brigid Sweetman, the mother of Cathriona White, sued the actor for wrongful death blaming him for her daughter’s suicide. She claimed her daughter confronted the actor after learning she had multiple STD’s … only to be shamed and called a “whore” … which lead her to struggle internally and eventually overdose on a combination of pills she belives Carrey gave to her daughter. She sued demanding general damages, funeral and burial expenses and punitive damages.
Carrey denied all allegations he gave his late ex-girlfriend any prescription pills, saying she stole them. He also demanded the court order Sweetman to cough up $372k before she can continue on with her lawsuit. The actor explained he believes the cost of defending himself in this frivolous case will come out to $372k … due to several depositions needing to take place overseas. He demanded the court order her to pay up before the suit could continue on.
The actor says the mother’s claim she was not estranged from her daughter is a lie. He points out she has provided no photos, correspondence or any evidence to prove they had a relationship). He blasts the mother saying if she had not been estranged from her daughter for years, she would have known her daughter and him were deeply in love.
The actor says he has shown he’s not a drug dealer and did not furnish the prescription meds to his ex-GF prior to her suicide. He says if the judge allows Sweetman’s outrageous lawsuit to continue on without making her pay up on the $372k, he will incur significant costs to defend himself … and is demanding she be shut down and be ordered to cough up the money.
