EXCLUSIVE: Joanna Krupa – Scores $300k Victory in Legal Battle with New York Strip Club
The Dirty can exclusively report Joanna Krupa has scored a $300k payday in her legal battle against a New York strip club – over the unauthorized use of her photos to promote their business – with the judge siding with the model and awarding her a massive judgement.
Krupa – with fellow models Irina Voronina and Tiffany Selby – sued Café Royale and 109 Restaurant in 2015. The models accused the companies of using their faces and photos to promote the strip club in Farmingdale, New York.
The models were furious with their faces being used to lure in customers for the business without any permission or payment for their photos … and demanding damages for the unauthorized use of the images and damages to their reputations.
Café Royale blew off the lawsuit despite being served with the legal papers. Krupa then filed a motion for default judgement against the club. She submitted an expert report – attached to her motion – that detailed the amount she believed each model was harmed. The report stated Krupa should be awarded $300k, $120k to Voronina and $40k to Selby. Then recently, the judge came back with his decision on the motion for default judgement and sided with Krupa.
Congrats to all the lovely ladies and their booming modeling careers.
