Kellyanne Conway Tells Public – Go Buy Ivanka’s Stuff!
In the past few days, many retailers have been dropping Ivanka Trump‘s clothing line due to them not supporting President Donald Trump‘s policies.
This morning, Kellyanne Conway went on Fox & Friends, and made a statement that is coming under fire.
“Go buy Ivanka’s stuff,” she said. “I hate shopping but I’m going to go get some for myself today.”
Since she made the statement, people are beginning to call her out for possibly violating a federal regulation that exists that prohibits those in office for using their position for personal gain.
Specifically, the regulation states that, “Any officer or employee of an agency, including a special Government employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity, including nonprofit organizations of which the employee is an officer or member, and persons with whom the employee has or seeks employment or business relations.”
While it’s not clear if this policy relates to her or not, her comments definitely are suspect, especially given her position.
