Laverne Cox- It Was About Survival For Me
Recently, Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox appeared at WE Day in California.
While there, she spoke about her “cause” she had to fight for growing up, detailing that she had to “figure out who I was and to love myself in spite of growing up in Alabama with racism and transphobia and bullying. So survival. It really was about survival for me.”
She shared some further inspirational thoughts, detailing that, “When you begin to understand that your voice matters and you can actually have an impact on the world, you step into your power. And that is the best thing ever.”
We love seeing positive role models in Hollywood working hard to inspire children, and Laverne is definitely one.
