EXCLUSIVE: Lindsay Lohan’s Friend And Hotelier Vikram Chatwal – Blasts Lawsuit over Allegations He Burned Two Dogs on New York Street with Aerosol Can
The Dirty can exclusively reveal hotelier Vikram Chatwal is blasting the dog walker suing him for emotional distress – over an incident where he allegedly burned 2 dogs on a New York street – arguing the woman doesn’t even own the animals and has no right to sue him.
Back in October, Chatwal was arrested for allegedly burning 2 dogs with an aerosol can and lighter outside his luxury condo building. Chatwal entered a plea of not guilty to each charge and was released on $50,000 bail.
A month later, the dog walker, Isabell Suquilanda, sued Chatwal in NY Court. She described the horror as she walked by the hotelier’s building as he planned to attack the dogs by firing the contents of the can through the flame of the lighter, thereby throwing streams of flame upon the defenseless animals.
Suquilanda sued for emotional distress including the paranoia including fear of random acts of strangers she now suffers and is seeking unspecified damages.
Chatwal headed to court recently firing back at the dog walker’s lawsuit … demanding she not be awarded a dime for her alleged emotional distress.
He points out that in order to recover damages for such a claim, a plaintiff must have been in the “zone of danger” witnessing the death or serious injury of a close family member. Chatwal explains the dogs are not the property of Suquilanda, rather she was employed to walk the animals … therefore she cannot seek damages for harm to personal property that isn’t hers.
Chatwal says the entire lawsuit should be stayed until the outcome of his pending criminal case.
