Mama June: From Not to Hot – Equals Ratings Gold
TLC must truly be kicking themselves in the past 24 hours, as it’s clear that Mama June and Alana Thompson– better known as “Honey Boo Boo”– are still a huge hit ratings-wise.
Ratings data released from last Friday’s premiere of Mama June: From Not to Hot is absolutely stunning- in a good way. Her show got 2.3 million total viewers in the Live+3 ratings. This is notable not only due to the fact that it’s not the easiest thing to command a large audience on a Friday night at 10 PM EST, but, additionally, it is WE TV’s best premiere ever both in the key demographics and in total viewership.
Aside from just being a ratings hit, the show also scored number one for the evening in programming for women, as well as attaining the number one spot for ad-supported cable programming in its timeslot.
Marc Juris, the president of WE TV, released a statement upon hearing the news, noting that, “At a time when so much is competing for viewers’ attention, Mama June’s journey is proof that great storytelling with compelling characters can break out and deliver a significant and engaged audience.
