Mass Murderer Dylann Roof’s Fate Handed Down — Jurors Recommend Death Penalty
Convicted mass murderer Dylann Roof, who killed nine people at a Charleston Church just received his fate – the death penalty. All 12 jurors unanimously agreed Roof should be held accountable and be put to death.
Dylann had his chance to speak to the jury – ruining his chance for life in prison. During his statements, Dylann stated, “In my confession to the FBI I told them that I had to do it, and obviously that’s not really true. … I didn’t have to do anything…. But what I meant when I said that was, I felt like I had to do it, and I still do feel like I had to do it.”
The jurors only deliberated for 3 hours, before giving Roof their verdict of the death penalty. Roof showed no regrets, while he repped himself in the final phase of his hearing. Judge Richard Gergel will hand down Roof’s sentence on Wednesday 9:30A ET.
