EXCLUSIVE: Nicole Murphy – Prosecutors Demand Con Man Pay $1.6 Million to Actress in Criminal Case
The Dirty can exclusively reveal Nicole Murphy is set to be awarded $1.6 million MORE in restitution against the childhood friend who swindled her out of millions from her Eddie Murphy divorce settlement … with prosecutors demanding the con man be on the hook for expensive jewels he stole.
Back in December, Troy Stratos – a serial con artist and childhood friend of Nicole’s – was sentenced to 21 years in prison for stealing millions.
Stratos pleaded guilty to stealing $10 million of the $15 million Nicole received from her 2005 divorce from Eddie Murphy. He conned her he could invest the money in oil through his Middle East connections … but he used the millions to live a lavish lifestyle for years. Court docs revealed the tally of Stratos’ fraud over the past two decades was over $43 million.
Prosecutors filed docs recently arguing for Nicole to be awarded an additional $1,621,858 in restitution … to add to the already $10,380,581 previously awarded to her … which would bring the grand total of $12,002,439.
They explain the $1.6 million should be added for Nicole with respect to jewelry that was fraudulently obtained by Stratos during their friendship.
The docs state since the FBI did not locate the missing jewelry through an investigation and due to the pieces being missing for over 10 years … they believe the value of the jewelry ($1.6 million) should be the previous award.
