Redfoo Admits To Stereotyping, But Thinks MTV Removing Gender From Awards Is Smart For Them
LMFAO member Redfoo was recently caught in LAX by paparazzin, who questioned him on his thoughts regarding the news that MTV was removing gender from their awards.
He didn’t hold back his opinion, sharing that, “It’s just human. I don’t know why they’re doing this. I wouldn’t know why they were separating the male and female, so I don’t know if I like it or not. I honestly don’t. Why are we looking at gender anymore? Yeah. So then why don’t we just make out right now. I look at gender. I’m sorry to stereotype… What’s the world coming to? Can we keep it real?”
“You know, MTV does weird stuff,” he continued. “Let me just be real. I get snap stories from MTV or like stuff and they have such an opinion. Like just be a corporation, man. Don’t try to pretend to have a voice. Just have an anchor hat ea voice. But they want to post from MTV and they’ve got all these- I think they did some stuff with the Trump stuff. It was like something happened… Let an anchor have an opinion. But MTV has no opinion. They’re a corporation. When you guys call them MTV, it’s a business move. It’s a corporate move. And it gets headlines…”
“Everybody needs to make noise and get traction,” he added, “so they’re like let’s take away male or female. Let’s be edgy. I think it’s a smart move for them.”
While it’s clear Redfoo has his opinions, something tells us if LMFAO wins an award, he’s not going to turn it down, regardless of if the category has a gender label or not.
