EXCLUSIVE: Sarah Palin – Legal Battle over Iconic 9/11 Photo Dismissed, After 3 Years Battling it out in Court
The Dirty can exclusively reveal Sarah Palin has finally reached a deal to bring the legal battle accusing her of illegally publishing a 9/11 photograph on her social media …. with the case finally being dismissed this week after over 3 years in court.
The former Republican Vice President candidate was sued by North Jersey Media Group back in 2013.
The company – which owns a series of newspapers – accused Palin of infringing on their copyright to an iconic 9/11 photo they own by posting on her personal website and Facebook without permission. The photo shows 3 New York firefighters pulling up an American flag in the World Trade Center aftermath.
Palin demanded the suit be tossed out of court denying she infringed on any copyright and claimed fair use of the photo due to its historical relevance. New Jersey Media later accused her of playing dirty legal games and backing out of an agreed upon settlement.
Then on March 13th, docs were filed in the case explaining Palin and New Jersey Media have reached an agreement to dismiss the entire case. The terms of any deal will remain confidential and the case will finally come to a close after over 3 years of battling it out in court.
