EXCLUSIVE: Sean Kingston – Ex-Lawyer Demands Rapper be Found in Contempt of Court for Blowing off Court Order

In the never ending legal issues with Sean Kingston, The Dirty can exclusively reveal the rapper is accused of refusing to hand over his financial information regarding his assets …. in the legal battle with his former lawyer — and now the law firm has headed back to court demanding the rapper be found in contempt.

Back in 2015, the Law Offices of James J. Gangitano sued Kingston in Florida Court. They accused him of refusing to pay up on invoices for work they did defending him in separate legal actions … stating he owed them a total of $12,500 for work they performed.

Following the lawsuit being filed, the firm reached a deal with Kingston in early 2016. He agreed to pay $20,000 in installments between April 2016 and January 2017.

However, the firm then accused him of failing to make any payments since October 20th and still owed $6,000. Further, the agreement stated if he fails to make the payments, he would be on the hook for a total of $28,500 … but minus what he paid he owed $14,500. They demanded the judge enter a final judgement in the amount due to his breach of their deal.

Earlier this year, the judge came back with his decision and sided with the lawyers by awarding them $14,500 in damages which will continue to grow with interest until the full amount is paid off. Kingston was also ordered to fill out a financial sheet which listed his assets and property …. in hopes the firm can use the info to collect on their debt.

Then on April 7th, the firm headed back to court demanding Kingston be found in contempt for blowing off the judge’s order.

They explain Kingston has refused to comply by filing out the financial information documents as the court ordered. The firm is demanding the rapper be ordered to pay attorney fees for the firm having to continue to drag him to court for refusing to follow the court order.
