Sean Spicer – President Trump Didn’t Mean Obama Wiretapped When He Said He Wiretapped
President Donald Trump and his administration are, in the most basic sense, confused.
While The Dirty reported that Trump accused former President Barack Obama of wiretapping him during the campaign, today Press Secretary Sean Spicer backpedaled on this.
In a press conference, Spicer explained that, “I think there’s no question that the Obama administration, that there were actions about surveillance and other activities that occurred in the 2016 election. The President used the word wiretaps in quotes to mean, broadly, surveillance and other activities.”
Spicer also clarified that Trump meant the Obama administration in general and didn’t mean to directly accuse Obama of doing these actions.
Something tells us the backpedaling can be explained in three words- lack of evidence.
