Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly Willing To Separate Children From Parents If They Try To Enter US Illegally
While lots has been spoken about regarding President Donald Trump‘s infamous wall he wants to build on the US/Mexican border, today the Secretary of Homeland Security, John Kelly, appeared on The Situation Room With Wolf Blitzer and had some shocking things to say.
When asked about it by Blitzer, Kelly said, he would do “almost anything to deter the people from Central America to getting on this very, very dangerous network that brings them up through Mexico into the US.”
Blitzer then probed more heavily, asking, “If you get some young kids who manage to sneak into the United States with their parents, are Department of Homeland Security personnel going to separate the children from their Moms and Dads?”
To this, Kelly shockingly said, “We have tremendous experience in dealing with unaccompanied minors. We turn them over to HHS and they do a very good job of putting them in kind of foster care or linking them up with parents or family members in the United States. Yes, I am considering to deter more movement along this terribly dangerous network- I am considering exactly that. They will be well cared for as we deal with their parents.”
In an administration that has done many stunning things, this is among one of the most eyebrow raising we’ve seen to date.
