EXCLUSIVE: Love & Hip Hop star Stevie J – Heads Back to Court in $1 Mill Back Child Support Case, Files Appeal of Sentence
The Dirty can exclusively reveal Love & Hip Hop star Stevie J has headed back to court in his criminal case over a million plus in back child support … with the reality star filing an appeal of his sentence which ordered him to pay his baby mama $1.3 million in restitution.
Recently, the reality star narrowly avoided jail time in his criminal case over $1.3 million in unpaid child support … when the judge decided not to sentence him to prison time. Prosecutors demanded Stevie be thrown in prison for up to 6 months … which he fired back pleading with the judge not to put him behind bars saying he supports his children and needed to be a part of their lives.
Instead, the judge ordered him to pay restitution in the amount of $1.3 million, submit to drug and alcohol tests while on probation and pay his baby mama in monthly installments to the tune of 25% of his gross monthly income until the debt is paid off.
Then on February 14th, Stevie headed back to court to appeal the sentence … despite him avoiding ANY prison time in the case. Stevie is appealing only the restitution order put in place at his sentencing hearing. He has yet to explain in detail the reason he believes the judge ruled in error but the battle over the $1.3 million in child support is far from over.
