Three Teen Mom Stars Get Warning From FTC
If you’re a fan of any celebrity- especially reality stars- you’re likely used to seeing them endorsing products they like, such as waist trainers, sunglasses, skinny teas, and more.
Recently, a report from WWD claims that 45 celebrities were issued warnings from the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) over their Instagram postings of products they were endorsing. Specifically, the warnings were given due to the celebrities not clearly “identifying their relationships with brands.”
Basically, the FTC’s warning letters were meant to explain that, when posting a “sponsored posts” – one in which celebrities are being compensated to post- they have to clearly indicate that with phrases such as #Ad being included in their post.
According to the report, among those who got these letters were Teen Mom OG stars Maci Bookout and Farrah Abraham, as well as Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea Houska.
Due to the fact that this was just a warning, we are sure the Teen Mom women- and the other celebs mentioned- will get their posts compliant and continue sharing products with their fans.
