EXCLUSIVE: Tracy Morgan – Comedian Refusing to Produce Financial And Medical Records in Legal Battle, Blows Off Judge’s Order to Turn Over Docs in 20 Days
The Dirty can exclusively reveal Tracy Morgan is refusing to hand over his confidential financial information or medical records … with the comedian blowing off a court order that stated he had 20 days to produce the documents in the legal battle with Wal-Mart and their insurance company over his massive settlement and he will be taking the issue to the appeal court to try and overturn the decision.
Wal-Mart and their insurance companies have been battling it out in court over who foots the bill for the settlements they reached with the comedian and others involved in the deadly truck crash. Wal-Mart said four of their other insurers paid out on their policies with the only exception being Ohio Casualty. The insurance company is accusing Wal-Mart of not getting their approval of the amount of settlement paid to Tracy and the others and therefore they don’t believe they are responsible for the settlement payments.
The insurance company has been attempting to force Morgan and others to hand over settlement docs, medical records, information regarding the comedian’s income and various other documents.
On January 19th, the judge in the case ordered the comedian to comply with the insurance company’s subpoena and turn over the requested documents. The order stated Morgan and his lawyer had 20 days to produce all information
Then recently, the lawyers representing the insurance co. fired off a letter to the judge explaining a “very significant and troubling development” since the last hearing.
They explain Wal-Mart was ordered to serve the court order to Morgan’s lawyer which stated they had to turn over the documents. However, the retail giant is accused of never serving the comedian’s team with the order … and as a result no documents have been turned over or produced by Morgan by the February 10thdeadline.
The comedian’s lawyer informed the insurance co. that he will be filing an appeal of the judge’s decision that forces him to hand over his medical, financial and settlement docs … including information about his ability to drive his Lamborghini shortly after the settlement.
