EXCLUSIVE: Comedian Tracy Morgan – Pleas with Judge to Stop Insurance Company’s Harassment over Wal-Mart Deadly Crash Settlement
The Dirty can exclusively reveal Tracy Morgan has headed back to court accusing Wal-Mart’s insurance company of harassing him … by firing off multiple subpoenas to his talent agents and managers and he’s demanding the judge step in and order them to back off.
Wal-Mart and their insurance companies have been battling it out in court over who foots the bill for the settlements they reached with the comedian and others involved in the deadly truck crash. The insurance company has been attempting to force Morgan and others to hand over settlement docs, medical records, information regarding the comedian’s income and various other documents.
Back in January, the judge ordered Morgan to comply with the subpoena and turn over all requested docs. He stated the comedian had 20 days to produce the records. However, the deadline passed and the insurance company claimed they received no documents and demanded the judge help out.
Then on February 27th, Morgan headed back to court demanding he not be ordered to hand over the documents. He explains the subpoenas are not only improper and overbroad but they appear to have been served to harass him rather than to obtain discovery.
Morgan claims the insurance company wasn’t telling the truth when they accused him of not turning over any docs … saying he has turned over medical records, 3 years of tax records and various other documents since September. Further, he says they could request the same docs from Wal-Mart … who is a party to the lawsuit unlike them.
Morgan is demanding the judge not permit their continued misuse of the subpoena process and put an end to the harassment.
