EXCLUSIVE: Jay Z – Scores Victory in Million Dollar Legal Battle over NFL Star Dez Bryant
The Dirty can exclusively reveal rapper Jay Z and his Roc Nation have scored a $1 million dollar victory in the legal battle accusing them of scheming to steal Dez Bryant from a sports company … with the judge siding with the music mogul and throwing out the case.
Last year, a sports memorabilia manufacturer, Official Brands sued Jay Z’s Roc Nation accusing them of scheming to steal NFL star Dez Bryant. Official Brands explained Dez signed a deal with them back in 2014. The agreement granted them the exclusive right to use his likeness and name to create a brand of merchandise, which utilized his famous “Throw up the X”.
They accused a Roc Nation sports agent of scheming to steal Dez and have him terminate his contract with Official Brands. The company sued demanding in excess of $1 million dollars in damages for Roc Nation’s alleged shady activity. Jay Z’s company fired back saying they did nothing wrong and demanded the suit be tossed out of court.
Then on January 23rd, the judge came back with his decision and sided with the music mogul Jay Z. He says the company doesn’t have evidence to back up their claims and dismissed all claims against Roc Nation.
