EXCLUSIVE: Magic Johnson – Accused of Fraud by Beverly Hills Jewelry, Hit With $600k Lawsuit over Diamonds
The Dirty can exclusively reveal Magic Johnson is being accused of fraud by a Beverly Hills jeweler – who has filed a $600k lawsuit against the NBA legend … claiming she bent backwards to help with his anniversary … only for the jewelry she provided to be returned in a trash bag & thrown at her.
Recently, Magic sued Beverly Hills jeweler Gina Amir Atelier accusing her of screwing him out of $250k. Magic explained he borrowed $850,000 in jewelry for his wife Cookie from the jewler for their 25th wedding anniversary and paid a $250k deposit.
He returned the pieces a week later but the jeweler refuses to hand back his $250k deposit. Magic sued accusing her of conspiring to defraud him from the get-go. Then on February 17th, the Beverly Hills jeweler slapping Magic with a $600k counter-suit accusing him of fraud.
She explains a self-proclaimed agent of the NBA star came into the store to purchase items on behalf of Magic. The woman told the jeweler she shops for celebrity clients and receives a commission of the sales. After looking at a few pieces, Mosley allegedly asked to see something more expensive stating, “It’s Magic Johnson, not some rapper… he has the money” and claimed she wanted to make more than $100k in commission off the sale.
The agent sent photos of the pieces and Magic approved the items … and she agreed to on his behalf to purchase the pieces for $850k. Atelier says she never agreed to loaning the pieces. She says they finally returned the pieces after months of back and forth … but they were thrown at her in a garbage bag. Literally.
